April 20 through 26 – Isolating with COVID

These days isolation days were spent in the room reading, working on travel plans and photos, napping and trying to fill the time.  The hotel is very helpful with room service, supplying water and any other things we might need.  It’s going to be a long, but what we hope are, few days.

April 22 – We had a major rainstorm today.  It poured very hard for a while.  Most of the other days have been pretty sunny.  Glad we didn’t have to be out in this storm.

April 24 – Tomorrow we were originally scheduled for a tour of Manaus.  And Paul has been feeling fine for several days so we were hoping it would happen.  However, the tour company’s protocol is that he must have a negative COVID test before they would do the tour.  They arranged for a nurse to come to the room this evening to conduct the test.  Unfortunately, he is still positive, so we continue to isolate.

April 25 – Mary is pretty excited.  She got totally caught up on the major backlog of photos and blogs from our past travels.  At one point she was about five trips behind.  Now it is up to Paul to finish the final touches on the remaining things to complete so that they can be published.

April 26 - Mary decided to splurge on a dessert.  It was chocolate mousse, a favorite of hers.  And this one turned out to be pretty spectacular.  So thick and firm that it wasn't served in a bowl.  Good thing she didn't try it earlier or she would have had it every day for dessert.
